  1. Announcing our Environmental Partnership with Clima: Our Commitment to a Sustainable Future

  2. What is Clima? Clima is our strategic climate partner; they measure our emissions (carbon footprint), give us advice on how to reduce them, and what we can’t reduce they offset it by investing in carbon projects.

  3. Why have we partnered with Clima? We are working with Clima because we understand that our operations contribute to the global carbon footprint and we need to act if we want reduce the impacts of climate change and achieve net zero emissions by 2050.

  4. What is a net-zero world? A net-zero world is a state where greenhouse gas emissions are balanced by an equivalent amount of removal or offsetting. It means that no additional carbon is added to the atmosphere, thus limiting global warming and the impacts of climate change.

  5. What is a carbon offset? A carbon offset is a way to compensate for greenhouse gas emissions by funding projects that reduce or remove emissions elsewhere. Carbon offset projects can include renewable energy, reforestation, and energy efficiency initiatives. These projects also have additional ESG impacts.

  6. What is carbon footprint? A carbon footprint is the total amount of greenhouse gas emissions caused by an individual, organisation, event, or product, expressed in units of carbon dioxide equivalent (CO2e). When measuring our carbon footprint, we can set our own boundaries.

  7. What does going carbon neutral mean? Going carbon neutral means achieving
net-zero carbon emissions by balancing the amount of carbon released into the atmosphere with an equivalent amount of carbon removed or offset.

  8. How does it work? • Measure – Conduct a carbon audit to determine current level of emissions produced by our business activities. • Reduce – Implement strategies to reduce our carbon footprint. • Offset – Purchase carbon offsets to compensate for the remaining emissions.

  9. Projects | What projects is iKeep supporting? Floresta Verde – Brazil Reforestation project – aims to preserve a critical region of the eastern Amazon biome which is at high deforestation risk.

  10. High Efficiency Wood Burning Cookstoves – Malawi, South-Eastern Africa Promotes the use of improves cookstoves – these cookstoves are fuel-efficient, allowing for a significant reduction in the amount of wood needed for cooking. It also improves air quality in confined cooking spaces.

  11. Mai Ndombe – Democratic Republic of the Congo Conservation initiative – aims to protect 300,000 hectares of rainforest and wetland habitat, home to endangered species like bonobos and forest elephants, by reducing deforestation. This project also improves the lives of local communities by enhancing food security and improving education.

  12. Ghani Solar Renewable Power – India Solar farm – displaces energy powered by fossil fuels while improving air quality due to the reduction of pollutants. It also creates job opportunities for local communities and provides access to inexpensive and reliable power. https://www.ikeep.com.au/
