2. Location • Location is the Arctic region In North America. • Stretches 5000 miles Bering Strait to Greenland

3. Shelters • Permanent homes were made out of stone and earth. • Temporary homes were made out of igloos made of snow and ice.

4. Clothing • Clothing was made out of seal skin, caribou, musk, oxen, polar bears and birds. • Women skinned animals and used bones for needles and gut for thread.

5. Food • Walrus, seal, and other fur bearing sea animals. • In late summer they ambushed slow moving herds of caribou.

6. Customs and Religion • Connected to nature tradition and believe that every being has a spirit and must be respected. • Believed in magical beings

7. Arts • Artists created simple things such as animals and scenes of daily life. • They created stone sculptural of animals such as polar bear, reindeers, and walruses. • Scrimshaw-very famous technique, engraved carvings that told stories in ivory then rubbed carving with lampblack

8. Tools/Weapons • Umiaks- large open boats • Kayaks-light canoes • Harpoons- small and large spears

9. Fun Facts • Men and Women wore hooded tunics and trousers with large boots • The women's tunic were big enough to hold their babies inside • Inuksuk's-stacked rocks to make like a human figure • Inuksuk marked land marks when out hunting so they wouldn't get lost • They are also called Eskimos
