  1. Inuit By Carson And Maddy

  2. Food • The Inuit people eat fish, sea mammals, and seals. • The Inuit hunt seal when the ocean is frozen in the summer time. • Caribou are hunted in the summer for meat so they don’t eat seals all the time.

  3. Location • The people lived in the cold for thousands of years. • They lived in Greenland and Canada. And live in Canada, Greenland, United States, and Russia to this day. • The Inuit people lived in land of cold harsh winters and in short cool summers.

  4. Tools • The Inuit people used tools for many different things • One of there tools were the bow drill. They use the bow drill to carve out cases and holders. • They used three kinds of knifes. Wood, bone, and ivory.

  5. Clothing • The Inuit only wear animal fur for the bad winters. • Inuit wear boots called kamiks they are made from sealskin, and they are also used for hunting • They use fur from seals and polar bear. And they turn their fur into Kamiks and atiqik.

  6. Weapons • The bola was one of their weapons used for hunting. They made it from bone and sinew. • Inuit people used these weapons spears, fishing rods, bow and arrows, and knives. • They used all of these weapons to hunt for their prey

  7. Transportation • They use three types of transportation. Dogsleds, umiak, and kayak. • They wear special clothing for dogsled and the special clothing is Atiqik. • The umiak large and more open than the kayak. It is meant to carry large loads.

  8. Shelter • In the winter time the people used igloos for homes. • And in the summer time they used tents made of animal skins. • It took them an hour to build the houses for their family’s.

  9. Language • The Inuit speak Inuktitut. Most of the words are pronounced like ka. • We know how to say “will the weather be good today” and you pronounce it like "see-la-ss-aang-un-ee-aa-pa?” • A lot of their words are hard to pronounce, but some of them are easy like yes means Ii.

  10. What contributions have they made to this day • They hunted back then and we hunt now. • Some people still use dog sleds. • To this day some people do use canoes and kayaks.
