Build 2 Testing Summary and DDWG Report on PDS4 Operational Readiness (30 Nov 2011)

This document outlines the results of Build 2 testing conducted on an existing PDS3 data set, focusing on the XML schema 1.0 with some instances of XML schema 1.1 implementation. While the primary aim was to test prototyping, several critical issues were identified that impact operational readiness. Key areas of concern included information model issues, outstanding design discrepancies, local data dictionary production, document set issues, and challenges with aggregation products and binary data. Build 2 Testing • Every DN attempted prototyping an existing PDS3 data set. • Tests the model and its implementation. • Does not actively test the System. • Although the official 'focus' was on XML schema 1.0, several nodes worked with the XML schema 1.1 implementation. • We identified a lot of issues

DDWG Reports Issues considered critical for build 2b • Information Model Issues – Contents, Outstanding Design Issues, Model-to-Schema • Producing Local Data Dictionaries • Issues with the Document Set • "Other Issues" – Aggregation Products, Binary Data • XML Schema and implementation process
