Enhancing Monsoon Prediction through Collaborative Research: A Case Study of MJO Prediction Activities

This proposed research initiative aims to improve monsoon prediction through a collaborative effort involving CLIVAR, ESP, AAMP, USCLIVAR, and Bin Wang-led ISV prediction experiments. By focusing on MJO activities, this project seeks to complement the existing CHFP Pan-WCRP monsoon simulation and prediction efforts. The case study will analyze the impact of various predictive models, data sources, and methodologies on enhancing monsoon forecast accuracy and reliability.
