South Florida Monroe County EOC fully activated Phased mandatory evacuation for Category 3 storm for all Keys Special needs shelter at FIU Miami-Dade Voluntary evacuation of barrier islands Mandatory evacuation for mobile homes, low lying areas and unsafe structures 3 general/Special needs and 1 pet friendly shelters open by 6:00 PM Schools closed Tuesday.

South Florida Broward Recommended evacuation of mobile homes 6 shelters open by this evening Schools closed on Tuesday Broward County government will be closed Tuesday Collier Voluntary mobile home evacuation for Everglades City, Chokoloskee and Goodland Tolls have been suspended to Boynton Beach on Turnpike, Alligator Alley west bound, Sawgrass Expressway and Miami-Dade Expressway.

  21. Planning Considerations Focus response efforts on: South Florida – Rita South Florida - Katrina Panhandle - Sheltering Task Force Florida – Mississippi Keep the emergency worker safe. Emergency workers must go through “check-in.” Anticipate - What resources will likely be needed.

  22. Planning Considerations Fuel will be limited. Communicate – communicate – communicate. Unsafe and unsanitary work environment. Emergency workers should go through Debrief and Decontamination.
