Institutional History • USM is a Nonprofit Private Foundation, with the character of private university, belonging to the Chilean Universities President Council (CRUCh) • Mr. Santa María was a visionary entrepreneurwho wanted to give Chile an innovative institute of technical education that would offer full economic support for outstanding students who lacked the economic resources to study. “…putting the highest level of human knowledge within reach of the underprivileged”
