  1. Asbestos Section 16 –Asbestos Management is part of the Environmental Health & Safety Procedure Manual. Click on title for download. In campus buildings built before 1980 all building materials will be Presumed Asbestos Containing Materials (PACM), unless tested to prove otherwise. The Mgr. EH&S has an Asbestos Inventory of locations that have been sample to determine if asbestos is present. Most of the samples have identified asbestos in the floor tile, floor tile mastic and pipe joint compound. Contact the Mgr. EH&S (Sara Gibson x6923) if you have questions about asbestos on campus or would like an awareness training session on asbestos. All asbestos abatement projects are conducted according to regulations set forth in: OSHA, IDPH, IEPA, and Cook County Dept. of Environment.
