  2. Mars Facts • It is 227,936,640 km from the sun. That’s long. • It is the red planet. • Mars is the Greek God of Ares, the God of War.

  3. Mars Facts • Evidence in the rock suggests that microscopic organisms a thousand times smaller than a human hair MAY HAVE LIVED ON MARS. • Mars was once warmer and wetter than it is today. If water remains hidden below the Martian surface, it may harbor simple life forms.

Venus Facts • Venus is the second planet from the Sun. • It is the hottest world in the solar system. • The average distance from the Sun is 108.2 million km. • Space probes have revealed that the atmospheric pressure at the surface of Venus is 90 TIMES THAT OF EARTH’S. • On Venus, the Sun rises in the West and sets in the East. • The trapped heat on Venus builds up, so the planet grows hotter and hotter.
