  5. The aim of Advocate’s is to reduce fire risk for vulnerable people

  6. Objectives In line with the objectives of the Brigade: A reduction in accidental dwelling fires, deaths and injuries. An increase in smoke alarm ownership. An increased level of Fire Safety awareness, including how to escape from a fire. A better level of safety and quality of life for the members of our community.

  7. How ? By promoting the HFSV initiative to all members of our community Ensuring those identified as being more at risk from fire can access the same service from CFB as other groups. Multi-agency working Joint Initiatives (internal and external)

  8. Working With Other Agencies Partnership working has been recognized as a key to the identification and delivery of risk reduction initiatives for vulnerable individuals.

  11. HOW DO THE ADVOCATES LINK IN WITH YOU AS AN INDIVIDUAL OR YOUR ORGANISATION

  12. How the Advocates Help Advocates have specialist skills in communicating with their client groups. They can provide fire safety awareness, engage with people to gain consent for the risk to be reduced, use specialist resources, issue equipment This can often involve signposting

  13. Signposting Many issues identified through the HFSC move beyond a fire risk for the individuals concerned and may represent more of a social need. By constantly working with many partners, advocates can assist in providing the best response and help for those who need it, should they request it. Self Determination - Consent
