5. Sample 1 Talking About Abbreviations Used Online Li=Li Hong M=Mike Li: What are you doing tonight? M: Chatting online. Li: Again? M: I really enjoy chatting with friends online. It’s such a good way to communicate with each other. Li: Yes, but I am confused when I come across some abbreviations. I don’t know what they all mean.

If someone writes “4ever”, it means “forever”, “BFN” means “bye for now”, “BS” means “big smile”, “FTTB” means “for the time being”, and so on. Li: I see. How interesting!
