  1. Solar Power Maytham 5-D

  2. Introduction Solar power is the energy from the sun. It is a renewable resource. It is used mostly for electricity. It is caught with Solar panels.

  3. Technological Advances Solar power was used mostly for plants, drying clothes, making salt, some times even was used to cook. It is still used for drying clothes and giving energy to plants. Now it is used for electricity and powering electrical appliance's. It is predicted in the future it will be the most used energy source for powering houses. In the future when the middle east runs out of oil and gas they will use it the most.

  4. Positives and negatives • Can be used all over the world. • It is a renewable resource. • Doesn’t pollute the air. • The stations are easy to set up. • It does not make noise. Qatar would get more energy because of how hot it is. Silicon is a material which is used to make glass. • It is really expensive. • The solar panels take up a lot of space. • When mining silicon produces carbon monoxide. • If area polluted doesn’t work well. • Doesn’t collect energy at night. • It doesn’t collect that much energy. Carbon monoxide is a harmful gas.

  5. Impact on environment Solar energy impacts the environment in a good and bad way. First, it doesn’t pollute the environment like how fossil fuels do. For example when burning fossil fuels it produces carbon dioxide and other green house gases which destroys the atmosphere which will change the climate like it will rain more in some places and not rain at all in other places.

  6. It only pollutes the environment because when they mine for silicon it damages the environment because it releases carbon monoxide if you breath it in it will lead to silicosis a severe lung disease which will lead to lack of breathing, fever, cough, eye swelling ,and bluish skin. It is predicted that solar panels will use less silicon.

  7. Future of this energy source Scientist predicted that this energy source will be the main source of energy in the future because it will always improve which will make it more efficient. The solar panels will collect more power it will also become less expensive every time. I think that it will be used a lot in Qatar.

  8. My Perspective I think that it might not improve and people will use bio mass and bio fuel instead of solar panels. People will use bio mass and bio fuel because right now bio mass and bio fuel is more efficient because it can be made into electricity which will power electrical appliances and it could be made into methane which will power our ovensand it can make ethanol that can power cars, but solar will still be used in countries which are hot like Qatar and other countries.

  9. Other peoples perspective There is a Japanese scientist that said that there will be solar panels with twice the power of the current solar panels we have and he said that it uses less silicon which means less carbon monoxide is released into the atmosphere. It will also have a rotating mirror which moves slowly with the sun which reflects it onto the solar cells. It is predicted to be used at 2014 or earlier and its main imports will be south west Asia and the Middle East.
