  1. Back to Europe Movement Sharing the gospel of God's Kingdom in this generation

  2. Europe???? Why Europe? Europe has been a Christian Continent…

  3. Europe gives the impression of being Christian. But the reality is quite different.

  4. Two reasons to Back to Europe • Missiological reason • Statiscal reason

  5. Missiological We believe in a Great Commission mandate for all nations but at the same time for all generations. An equal process between simultaneous and generational

  6. Materialism and secularism have taken their toll. Organized religion and the church are considered irrelevant by most Europeans. About 1.8 million people leave mainstream churches every year. Statiscal

  7. Did you know… • That believers in China outnumber the whole population of Germany? (80 million) • That there are more members of the Assemblies of God denomination in Brazil than there are evangelicals in the whole of Europe?! • That one church in Korea has a membership equal to the whole population of Amsterdam?!

  8. Did you know… There are seventeen countries in Europe with an evangelical population less than 1% of their total? Source: Operation World 21st Century Edition

  9. Did you know… Europe actually has fewer evangelicals per capita than any other continent? Following are the three closest: Africa America Asia Europe

  10. Some Challenges in Europe • Post-Christian life style. • Postmodern thought. • Aggressively expanding of Islam • Europeans have fewer and fewer children. The population is getting older and older -> dying scenario - • Economic difficulties in many nations. The social welfare system is breaking down.

  11. New value orientation in society (Materialism and Secularism) • Europe probably has more Christian buildings than any other place on earth • Europe has fewer followers of Christ than any other continent in the world • Christendom in Europe - in form of the official churches - is rapidly becoming a thing of the past.

  12. What is the movement “Back to Europe?” It is an international ministry network developing a process to mobilize the Church around the world to reach Europe with the gospel.

  13. To motivate and assist the European and the Global Church to work together to see the Kingdom of God manifested in the Europe of today and of the future. Vision

  14. To connect the different missionary forces with the needs of Europe, in order to show God’s love through sharing the Good News, and engaging in discipleship, the growing and strengthening of God’s people, the planting of new churches and reaching the ‘unreached’ Mission

  15. What are the main purposes?

  16. 1. Working Together2. To raise awareness of Europe as a mission field 3. To mobilize the Church around theworld towards Europe4. To mobilize evangelism among new immigrants in Europe5. To assist new missionary sending nations

  17. “Come over here and help us” Acts 16:9

  18. Just for reflection • What would be the potential challenges for Africans to do missions in Europe? It would be possible? If not why? • How to help from churches in Africa to reach with the gospel the Africans in the Diaspora living in Europe?
