Another shipbuilding company is the Keppel Shipyard, which operates two (2) shipyards in the Philippines – Subic and Batangas . Rubber - KEG (Region 9) • Among agricultural crops, rubber presents the best potential for Region 9. • Rubber farming • more lucrative per hectare than most other agro-industrial crops grown in the country. • Among ZamPen’s six Champion Products (coconut, fresh fruits-mangoes, fresh fish, seaweeds and other marine products and rubber), rubber production is considered labor intensive with a large number of skilled and semi-skilled workers needed from inception to rubber tapping and processing.

Availability of Skills (Supply) – Agribusiness, Region 9 • Lack of specialized skills for a specific agricultural product • There is no agriculturist or farm technician who specializes on mango production or rubber production • Fish cleaners need to possess certain skills that require three to six months training
