On Day 2 of our math journey, students will explore key vocabulary terms such as "decimal point," "tenths," and "odd." Guided questions are provided to help students engage with these concepts. Each vocabulary word includes a definition and an example to enhance understanding. Students will also reference their math journal’s index to correctly document vocabulary entries. This structured approach encourages retention and promotes a comprehensive grasp of essential mathematical terms in the curriculum.

Sometimes we will include an example with a definition. We will do that today for the word tenths.
8/30/12 3 MATH VOCABULARY decimal point – a symbol that separates whole numbers from decimals. tenths – the first number to the right of a decimal point. 0 . 5 3 tenths place odd – an odd number can not be divided into two equal groups. You only need to check the last digit to tell if a number is odd. 1, 3, 5, 7, and 9 are all odd digits.
