  5. What is Self Esteem? • In your notes define the term Self Esteem • Does this person have self esteem? • Self-Esteem - We all have a mental picture of who we are, how we look, what we're good at, and what our weaknesses might be. We develop this picture over time, starting when we're very young kids. The term self-image is used to refer to a person's mental picture of himself or herself. A lot of our self-image is based on interactions we have with other people and our life experiences. This mental picture (our self-image) contributes to our self-esteem.

  6. Self Esteem? • Self-esteem is all about how much we feel valued, loved, accepted, and thought well of by others — and how much we value, love, and accept ourselves. People with healthy self-esteem are able to feel good about themselves, appreciate their own worth, and take pride in their abilities, skills, and accomplishments. People with low self-esteem may feel as if no one will like them or accept them or that they can't do well in anything. • We all experience problems with self-esteem at certain times in our lives — especially during our teens when we're figuring out who we are and where we fit in the world. The good news is that, because everyone's self-image changes over time, self-esteem is not fixed for life. So if you feel that your self-esteem isn't all it could be, you can improve it.

  7. Self Esteem by Offspring I wrote her off for the tenth time today And practice all the things I would say But she came over I lost my nerve I took her back and made her dessert Now I know I’m being used That’s okay man cause I like the abuse I know she’s playing with me That’s okay cause I got no self esteem We make plans to go out at night I wait till 2 then I turn out the light All this rejection’s got me so low If she keeps it up I just might tell her no Chorus When she’s saying that she wants only me Then I wonder why she sleeps with my friends When she’s saying that I’m like a disease Then I wonder how much more I can spend Well I guess I should speak up for myself But I really think it’s better this way The more you suffer The more it shows you really care Right? yeah yeahyeah Now I’ll relate this little bit That happens more than I’d like to admit Late at night she knocks on my door Drunk again and looking to score Now I know I should say no But that’s kind of hard when she’s ready to go I may be dumb But I’m not a dweeb I’m just a sucker with no self esteem Chorus Consider 2 things in the song that make you feel bad about yourself

  8. Firework- Katy Perry Do you ever feel like a plastic bag Drifting throught the wind Wanting to start again Do you ever feel, feel so paper thin Like a house of cards One blow from caving in Do you ever feel already buried deep Six feet under scream But no one seems to hear a thing Do you know that there's still a chance for you Cause there's a spark in you You just gotta ignite the light And let it shine Just own the night Like the Fourth of July Cause baby you're a firework Come on show 'em what your worth Make 'em go "Oh, oh, oh!" As you shoot across the sky-y-y You're gunna leave 'emfallin' down-own-own You don't have to feel like a waste of space You're original, cannot be replaced If you only knew what the future holds After a hurricane comes a rainbow Maybe you're reason why all the doors are closed So you can open one that leads you to the perfect road Like a lightning bolt, your heart will blow And when it's time, you'll know You just gotta ignite the light And let it shine Just own the night Like the Fourth of July Chorus Boom, boom, boom Even brighter than the moon, moon, moon It's always been inside of you, you, you And now it's time to let it through Boom, boom, boom Even brighter than the moon, moon, moon Boom, boom, boom Even brighter than the moon, moon, moon Consider 2 things in the song that make you feel good about yourself
