Class Frozen Party February 7th February 8th College Colors Day February 14th Class Valentines Day Party February 18th No School Presidents Day SIGHT WORDS not what all • Classroom News • February Family Projects are due February 11th3! You may send in anytime before. Your child gets so excited to share! • Continue to SAVE YOUR BOXTOPS • Practice 3 sight words each night! Once you have mastered them go to the next 3! I sent flashcards home for each child. • Please be practicing handwriting at home. • Homework should only be taking 10 minutes or less each night. • Read to your child 15 minutes every night! • Let Kids be kids. They need down time. Research shows it actually delays a child to force too much work on them.  • Bring in your canned foods! Phonics/Writing This week we will focus on the word family of “ap” Please go over any words at home that have these word family spellings cap map nap sap gap tap There will be a challenge at the end of the week to see who can spell these! We will be continuing to write sentences this week! Please go over proper writing sentence structure as a review at home! Word of the Week respect Student of the Week Joy Banegas Reading This week we will on the book Penguins and Tacky the Penguin. We will be reading the story and talking about different story elements by making connections, retelling and understanding beginning, middle and end. Our genre is Nonfiction. Homework Please turn in by Friday. Homework may be turned in early. Read 15 minutes every night and fill out reading Book Log Math We will compose and decompose numbers to 10. We will be working with placing our numbers in number bonds. We will continue to build our teen numbers and be identifying them in ID Numbers to 50! Count by 10’s and to 100! I sent flashcards home for each child. • Please be practicing handwriting at home. • Homework should only be taking 10 minutes or less each night. • Read to your child 15 minutes every night! • Let Kids be kids. They need down time.
