  2. Who Are We? Cochise, Graham & Greenlee One Stops are managed by Cochise Private Industry Council, a private/non-profit 501c3 organization that administers the WIA (Workforce Investment Act). Our organization streamlines multiple employment and training programs into an integrated One Stop system, simplifying access for job seekers and employers.

  3. Our Mission Statement Developing tomorrow's workforce today by building partnerships and providing leadership in employment, education and training.

  4. Who Do We Help? • Job Seekers -First-time, unemployed, presently employed, dislocated (laid off) workers and those wishing to change careers Employers -New or existing companies that have staffing needs or need layoff assistance Veterans -We offer Priority of Service to Veterans! Priority of Service is the right of an eligible “Covered Person” to be given priority of service over an eligible non-covered person for the receipt of employment, training and placement services, not withstanding other provisions of the law. Covered persons take precedence over non-covered persons in obtaining services and shall receive access to services and resources earlier in time than a non-covered person. If services or resources are limited, the covered person receives access instead of or before the non-covered person. www.azdes.gov

One Stop Career Center • WIA services are in every county of each state • Programs and services may vary • Computers with high-speed internet access • Reference sources – Cover Letters, Resumes, Interviewing, and Job Search Strategies • Phones, fax, copier • Job referrals and recommendations • Nationwide job search capability • Career counseling • Labor market information

Workforce Investment Act • Services Provided through WIA: AT NO COST • Training – Truck driving, health care, law enforcement, construction, etc. • Support Services – for qualifying applicants: gas, child care, clothing for employment, uniforms, tools, equipment, tuition, books • Case Management – Assess your strengths and job capabilities. Upgrade your skill sets or train through tutorials

Comprehensive One Stop • Services are provided at no cost. • DES Employment Services is co-located at Graham One Stop in Safford. • DES Disabled Veteran’s Outreach Program Specialist is available at least twice per month in Safford. • Referrals made to appropriate Partner Services and/or community resources.

What Can AZ Workforce Connection Do For Job Seekers? • Education-some job seekers may qualify for training (based upon eligibility/funding availability) • Grant Funding -Dislocated Workers-those that are laid off and need to find work -Adult Program-might be underemployed, are looking for higher paying job or advancement -Youth-training program for low-income, at-risk youth and young adults from ages 14-21 -Title V (Adults 55+)-senior community service employment-getting older adults back into the workforce

  11. Business Outreach Goal To promote and support a workforce system that offers solutions that achieve and sustain economic prosperity.

What Can AZ Workforce Connection Do For Employers? • Job Development-identifying needs, creating job descriptions and posting open positions • Hiring Assistance-recruitment, screening and interviewing including space if needed • Rapid Response-services provided due to a layoff/shutdown to assist affected workers • Layoff Aversion-assistance with staff credential attainment to avoid possibility of layoff if skills are not upgraded as required

  16. DES Employment ServiceInformation & Contacts • Employment Service provides placement services for job seekers and labor force recruitment services for employers at no cost.
