What The CBLS Has Planned • The biggest event we have planned for this semester will be the Panel Discussion, which is going to be held March 21, 2012 at 5:00pm at the Blackburn Conference Center. • It is also a requirement that we have one community service project. I wanted to open the floor for suggestions. A few that the Board has come up with is a Habitat for Humanity work weekend, setting up a table in the lobby to collect for a local charity/non-profit organization, etcetera. • We are currently in talks with Georgia State about having our networking mixer. We’re thinking mid-April as of right now, but we will keep you all posted.

  3. The Panel Discussion: “A Day in the Life” We will have practitioners coming to speak to John Marshall students about what practice is like for them on a daily basis. The panelists will consist of professionals from: Georgia Pacific (In-House Counsel) Kilpatrick Townsend (Large Firm) The Security Exchange Commission (Federal) Siavage Law Group (Boutique Firm) King & Spalding (Large Firm)

  4. Interested in Running for an Officer Position? • If you would like to nominate someone for an officer position for the 2012-2013 school year please submit your nominations to Michael Finello at mike.finello@gmail.com. • Campaign speeches and voting will take place at April’s General Body Meeting. • The Board positions are: President, Vice President, Vice President of Affairs, Vice President of Finance, and Vice President of Programming. • If you have any questions about what the duties/responsibilities of the various positions are, please refer to the CBLS Constitution on OrgSync. • If you have any other questions please feel free to ask any of the officers: Michael Finello, Ricky Kaplan, Brad Yochum, Alex Bell, or Anthony Capozzolo.

  5. Interested in a Course in Securities Law or Mergers & Acquisitions? If you would be interested in more courses being taught from a Business Law perspective at John Marshall please let CBLS know. One of our members is trying persuade the administration to incorporate more courses within the Business Law realm. We will have a petition going around at our Panel Discussion that you can sign to show your support. Remember The Corporate Counsel Job Fair PART I is Monday March 12, 2012 at 3pm. • To Apply you MUST turn in your completed registration packet to the Career Development Office or email to jmlscareerservices@gmail.com by the deadline. This will be an excellent opportunity for John Marshall to break into the Corporate world. I highly recommend getting your resumes perfected and submitted in order to partake in this great opportunity. Hope everyone has a safe and relaxing spring break.
