  5. Drafting Learning Outcomes SWiBAT Approach: Student will be able to + active verb + behavior/knowledge + when (at what timeline) • Learning outcomes work best if they are specific and measurable

  6. Outcomes by Class (Contract Drafting) 1. At the end of the semester, students will be able to research and draft, from scratch, contract provisions that effectuate clients’ needs and satisfy the intent of the parties. 2. At the end of the semester, students will be able to apply the principles of drafting in plain language to a variety of contracts, including contracts for services, contracts for the sale of goods, and settlement agreements.

  7. Outcomes for Upper-Level Courses(Subjective Approach) 1. At the end of the semester, students will be able to effectively tailor their legal writing to a particular audience. 2. At the end of the semester, students will be able to conduct effective and efficient research and apply it to a particular legal problem.

  8. Outcomes for Upper-Level Courses(Objective Approach) 1. At the end of the semester, students will be able to independently draft two types of practice-related documents that follow specific formatting guidelines. 2. At the end of the semester, students will be able to demonstrate proficiency in a lawyering skill not covered in the first-year curriculum.
