  4. Webinar Objectives • Review team’s work in developing EMs • Review components of EM (PPT, handouts, etc.) • Suggest process for piloting EMs and support from Cadre of Coaches • Answer and clarify any questions pertaining to EMs

Preparation of EM on Family/Parent Engagement Selection of Electronic Materials based on needs survey of InET states Initial work on Family/Parent Engagement began on Sep 26-27, 2013 in Colorado Focused on program experiencesand historical information provided by InET states Laura Blancas, Margarita Elorriaga, and Antonio Ramos are principle writers of this EM Andrea Vázquez worked on editing EM

Electronic Material: Family/Parent Engagement forBinational Migrant Students • The EM provides ideas and strategies to InET states to support binational migrant family/parent and includes the following components: • PowerPoint • Objectives • Surveys • Resources • Handouts • Sample Survey – English • Sample Survey – Spanish (to be finalized)

Electronic MaterialFamily/Parent EngagementObjectives Upon completion of this EM, the learner will be able to: • Identify specific needs of binational parents and students • Determine areas of support that will meet those unique needs • Recognize importance of adapting existing parent engagement programs • List technology resources & support systems for binational migrant families

  8. Overview of EM: Family/Parent Engagement Review EM Power Point slides Review related handouts Clarify contents of EM, as needed Seek input to enhance EM Adjust to meet needs of respective states
