  2. Child Beauty Pageants are Wrong • Bad for mental health • Bad for physical health • It teaches beauty is everything • Sexualizes children • Children are too young • Objectified • Abuse

  3. Mental Health • Self-esteem is low if they lose the Pageants they feel they weren’t good enough or not pretty enough • Taught that winning is everything. Should be taught that Pageants are all about having fun and not winning • Depressed or Anxiety • Think they need to look like Barbie or look pretty all the time

  4. Physical Health • “Look Perfect” • Develop disorders such as bulimia and Anorexia. Looking thin is “everything” • “Impact identity, self-esteem and body perception

  5. “Beauty is Everything” • Think they need to look like Barbie or look pretty all the time • Taught that appearance is more important than personality

  6. Too Young? • Taught these things at such a young age • Too young to understand (why they didn’t win) • Exposed • Lose innocence • Grow up differently
