  4. Lake Braddock……our story • Year One (2008-2009): • Inform HS faculty of PBIS through Power point at faculty meeting • Follow MS lead with PBS • Training, training, training • Focus and Survey teachers on tardiness

Lake Braddock……our story • Year Two(2009-2010): • Sept/Oct: Share tardy data (from teacher survey) with staff • Jan/Feb: Create and implement online commendations for student recognition • March/April: Create four core value posters and matrix. Agenda planner’s for students and faculty t-shirts designed to be handed out Sept 2010.

Lake Braddock……our story • Year Three (2010-2011): • Market online commendations through School Improvement Plan departmental leaders • Gallup Poll survey administered to all 7th, 9th and 11th grade students. Poll measures Hope, Engagement and Well-being • Presentation to faculty in early March to review Gallup Poll data • Gallup Poll scorecard • Informing faculty of PBIS updates through Bruin Bites (newsletter generated by principal each week)

Year Three Data Measures SIP Essential Life skills • Objective: • LBSS will implement a school-wide positive behavior approach (PBIS) that strengthens practical life and character skills by focusing on integrity, respect, commitment and responsibility. • Performance Indicators: • By the end of 2010-2011 school year, 100% of students will know our four core values.

  9. In-process measures 1. Staff will give a minimum of two online commendations per quarter. Faculty and staff fill out a commendation form to recognize positive student behaviors aligned with the four core values. Once the commendation is filled out it is sent for data collection (HS)and (MS)and delivered to students in front of their peers by their administrators. School improvement department liaisons have developed monthly reminders for colleagues to submit commendations. 2. Staff will use a commonchecklistto identify the four core values. 3. Focus Lessonswill air during The Morning Brew on one of 4 core values.

  10. In-process measures continued 4. Inspirationalquoteslinked to the four core values will be shown each morning school wide during the moment of silence. 5. The four core values will be printed on the back of staff t-shirts and the physical education uniforms.  6. Inform and remind the community of our beliefs and core values.

Possible Next Steps for Year 4 • Pyramid of Interventions • Individualized – better documentation/monitoring; check-in/check-out with intervention team • Teacher Advisory time built into school day in order • Increase Student and Faculty Involvement • Subcommittees within Morning Brew and SGA classes to help create core value video clips as well as lesson plans • Communication with Parents • Continue to Analyze all point of data

Year Three Data Measures (SIP) • Objective: • The West Springfield High School community will work effectively together to promote an environment of respect, responsibility, and academic integrity where Spartans do their P.A.R.T. by being Prepared, Accountable, Respectful, and Truthful. • Performance Indicators: • 100% of students and staff can explain PART • 100% of students will have received at least one PART card • 10% reduction in unexcused tardies • 5% reduction in all discipline referrals • In-Process Measures: • 88% of students have participated in monthly PART lessons • 30% (maximum) of students at a give grade level have received and turned in a PART card • 15% increase from last year; 26% decrease over two years • 2% decrease from last year; 33% decrease over two years
