  12. Reasons why eBooks are the preferable format ... For some readers

  15. There are still those who prefer print books

  16. But I have encountered problems with self-publishing an eBook ...

  17. First problem was getting the word out about where my eBook was listed for purchase Kindle Kobo iBookstore/iTunes

  19. Next has been finding media that will review eBooks eBook News and Reviews

  20. The way some booksellers view eBooks

  21. But the biggest problem is just Discoverability in general!!

  22. My two biggest problems with publishing both eBooks and Print: Discoverability And Distribution

  23. For instance, it’s almost impossible to get my eBook into libraries ...

  24. Ebooks – seemingly the great success story for libraries... Here are the statistics:

  25. Marigold Library System Since 2010, 432.8% Increase in Checkouts

  26. Chinook Arch Library System Since Dec. 31, 2010, 720.5% Increase in Checkouts

  27. Peace Library System Since Jan. 1, 2010, 407.4% Increase in Checkouts

  28. But then ... The libraries and bookstores aren’t stocking my print book in great quantities Or offering to help me promote either the eBook or print edition

  29. This is one drawback both eBooks and Print editions share

  30. The unique costs for each are, for eBooks: 1. Formatting 2. Aggregation (listing eBook on all online sales sites) 3. Administrative costs
