Fraction Division Opposite of Multiplication
The opposite number: • Invert • Called the reciprocal • You simply flipped your fraction
To Divide • Invert the second number • Multiply Keep It. Change It. Flip It.
Steps • Change Whole numbers and mixed numbers to improper fractions • Keep the first fraction • Changethe division symbol to multiplication • Invert or flip the second fraction (the divisor) Multiply numerator by numerator and denominator by denominator.
