PSJA STORY LOTS OF WORK, NOT ENOUGH HANDS • Providing internships since 2002 – 17 years • MIS - End user support, network infrastructure • Data Services - Application development, database management and problem solving • No experience, no problem • “Can’t pay you, but we can pay you with experience” – 100% volunteer/non-paid • New - Providing experience with HS student interns Add a footer
GETTING STARTED Make contact and schedule an interview Make sure expectations are understood Answer questions Onboarding procedures through HR Introduce and assign to a team Continuous feedback and check-ins HOW DO I BECOME AN INTERN? Add a footer

LESSONS LEARNED Liability issues for interns : what can they do? Stringent onboarding procedures – Any cost? Security and compliance procedures must be followed Expectations on work schedule : full day, half days Interns are part of the team Pass information along that you wish you knew ITEMS TO CONSIDER BEFORE STARTING Add a footer
