  2. His Faith • In the 2nd Pledge of a ‘Aqabah, 70 men and 2 women of Al-Madiinah gave there allegiance to the Prophet (PBUH). HabiibIbnZaid was selected as one of them. • His mother and his aunt were the 2 women that were selected.

  3. HabiibIbnZaid Story • One day there were two arrogant liars who claimed they were prophets. Their names were Al-AswadIbnKa’b Al ‘Aansiy from San’aa, and the other was named Musailamah the Liar from Al- Yamaamah. • They went as far as to ignite suspicion against prophet hood and caused a huge problem.

  4. HabiibIbnZaid Story Cont. • One day they sent the Prophet (PBUH) a message saying they were his partner in prophet hood. • The Prophet (PBUH) wrote them back, exposing them as fake prophets and this only made them cause more problems.

  5. HabiibIbnZaid Story Cont. • They went on spreading falsehood and slander and started to abuse the believers. • The Prophet (PBUH) gave them one last chance, he sent a message to them letting them know it was the last chance. • He picked HabiibIbnZaid as his messenger and sent him off hoping to guide them into the right path.

  6. HabiibIbnZaid Story Cont. • When Musailamah the Liar read the Prophet’s message, he was blinded by its light, which made him more arrogant. • Musailamah was no more than a liar, he decided to keep HabiibIbnZaid and try to use him to convince people he was a prophet.

  7. HabiibIbnZaid Story Cont. • Musailamah the Liar called everyone to witness one of his so-called memorable days. • HabiibIbnZaid was brought out, he had wounds and bruises that showed he was tortured. • He thought he could get HabiibIbnZaid to give him the credibility of him being a prophet of Allah.

  8. HabiibIbnZaid Story Cont. • Musailamah asked Habiib, “Do you bear witness that Muhammad is, indeed, the Messenger of Allah?” Habiib answered boldly, “Yes, I do bear witness the Muhammad is, indeed, the Messenger of Allah.” • Musailamah’s face went white with humiliation and embarrassment.

  9. The Death • Musailamah became as violent as a wounded bull and told his executioner to stab Habiib’s body with his sword. • As his body was being cut into small pieces, Habiib began to chat, “There is no god but Allah and Muhammad is his Messenger.”
