Elect to Read Our September event was a voting theme that included: • Special Readers • Children voting school-wide on their favorite book • Our principal and assistant principal reading their favorite books to the school • Red, white and blue day • Choosing a free book from our patriotic themed distribution room
All Aboard the Reading Express!Our December reading theme tied in with the book The Polar Express and trains! The special events included: • Special readers • Start a train reaction… read (a special time for school wide reading) • All students got to take a train ride on The Little Blue Choo (a track-less train that visited our school) • All classes made a trip to the movies to see The Polar Express movie • Students chose a free book from the train themed distribution room! • Dress as a train conductor or engineer day!
Books Ahoy!Our March reading theme was pirates! The events scheduled were: • Special Readers • A school-wide treasure hunt • Dress as a “Book-aneer” day • Making class pirate flags and decorating contests • All students receive a free book from our pirate themed distribution room!
