Instrumental Music REQUIREMENTS Percussion: • Pitched Percussion - Scales G, C, F, Bb, Eb, Ab, Db, Gb, & the chromatic the full length of the board in trip-a–lets • Sight reading on the snare • Tuning the Timpani at intervals of a 3rd, 4th, and 5th • Theory Test • Must Participate in a large ensemble in the Fall and Spring Winds (Brass & Woodwind): • Scales G, C, F, Bb, Eb, Ab, Db, Gb, & the chromatic F to F no less than 2 octaves in trip-a-lets • Sight reading • Theory Test •  Must Participate in a large ensemble in the Fall and Spring

FOR YOUR INTERVIEW, HERE’S WHAT WE’LL WANT TO KNOW: • WHAT INSPIRES YOU? • WHY DO YOU LOVE MUSIC? • ARE YOU DRAWN TO A CHALLENGE? • ARE YOU WILLING TO WORK HARD TO ACHIEVE YOUR GOALS? • WHAT DO YOU WANT TO DO FOR A CAREER? • HOW CAN A INSTRUMENTAL MUSIC MAGNET PROGRAM HELP YOU GET THERE? • CAN YOU USE BASIC MUSIC VOCABULARY? • ARE YOU FAMILIAR WITH ANY MUSICAL WORKS WORKS FROM HISTORY?

  4. CHECKLIST: • Print and complete the application: IS DUE BY DECEMBER 20th. NO LATE APPLICATIONS WILL BE ACCEPTED. • Once your application has been submitted you will be contacted by a member of the vocal faculty and given an audition time. • TURN AROUND TIME IS QUICK! After your audition you will be notified with your audition results within TWO WEEKS of audition. • AUDITIONS WILL BE HELD BETWEEN JANUARY 13TH-17TH . • GOOD LUCK!

The FAME recruitment timeline is as follows: • October: Visit middle schools. • November 19th:FAME informational meeting in the  NMHS Theatre @ 7:00pm • December 20th- All Visual Arts portfolios are due. All portfolios are to be submitted to Ashley Houlihan. • December 20th: All applications due to NMHS. No late applications will be accepted.  Applications should be addressed as follows: • New Manchester High School • Attn: Damien Gaiters/FAME Application  • 4925 Hwy92/166 • Douglasville, GA 30135 • January 13-17: FAME auditions (For performing arts ONLY) • January 21- Acceptance notifications • January 30- Acceptance Receptions @ NMHS
