But those who trust in the LORD will find new strength. They will soar high on wings like eagles. They will run and not grow weary. They will walk and not faint. --Isa. 40:31
Guilt has to do with our behavior. Shame has to do with our character. Guilt tells us that what we’ve done is bad. Shame tells us that we are bad.
Left unaddressed, shame will strip us of our self-worth.
We cannot experience true intimacy with God when we are weighed down by shame.
2 keys to overcoming shame: 1. We must identify and expose Satan’s lies.
(We) demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God, and we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ. --1 Cor. 10:5
