  2. Unless one is born again… • What is the significance? • What is the worth? • What should I do now? • What does it mean to be born again?

  3. “Being Born Again” • A Christian walks in a newness of life… • Romans 6:4-6 • 2Corinthians 5:17 Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new.

  4. “A New Birth” • James 1:18 Of His own will He brought us forth by the word of truth, that we might be a kind of firstfruits of His creatures. • 1Peter 1:22-23

  5. “A New Birth” • John 3:3-5 • Titus 3:5 “not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to His mercy He saved us, through the washing of regeneration and renewing of the Holy Spirit, 6 whom He poured out on us abundantly through Jesus Christ our Savior, 7 that having been justified by His grace we should become heirs according to the hope of eternal life.”

  6. Newness of life involves a DAILY renewal… • 2Corinthians 4:16 Therefore we do not lose heart. Even though our outward man is perishing, yet the inward man is being renewed day by day. • Romans 12:2 And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.

From death to life… • John 5:24  "Most assuredly, I say to you, he who hears My word and believes in Him who sent Me has everlasting life, and shall not come into judgment, but has passed from death into life. 25 Most assuredly, I say to you, the hour is coming, and now is, when the dead will hear the voice of the Son of God; and those who hear will live.

From death to life… • Ephesians 2:1-5 • Colossians 2:12 ”buried with Him in baptism, in which you also were raised with Him through faith in the working of God, who raised Him from the dead. 13 And you, being dead in your trespasses and the uncircumcision of your flesh, He has made alive together with Him, having forgiven you all trespasses,”

From death to life… • 1John 5:11 And this is the testimony: that God has given us eternal life, and this life is in His Son. 12 He who has the Son has life; he who does not have the Son of God does not have life. 13These things I have written to you who believe in the name of the Son of God, that youmay know that you have eternal life, and that you may continue to believe in the name of the Son of God.

  10. From darkness to light… • 1Thessalonians 5:5 You are all sons of light and sons of the day. We are not of the night nor of darkness. • Ephesians 5…

  11. A New Allegiance! • A Christian is one who has truly been converted - which means changed; transformed!

  12. Conversion involves change… • 1Thessalonians 1:8-10 • Romans 6:16 “Do you not know that to whom you present yourselves slaves to obey, you are that one's slaves whom you obey, whether of sin leading to death, or of obedience leading to righteousness? 17 But God be thanked that though you were slaves of sin, yet you obeyed from the heart that form of doctrine to which you were delivered. 18 And having been set free from sin, you became slaves of righteousness.”

  13. A Christian is converted (changed; transformed) to Christ… • Matthew 10:37 “He who loves father or mother more than Me is not worthy of Me. And he who loves son or daughter more than Me is not worthy of Me. 38 And he who does not take his cross and follow after Me is not worthy of Me. 39 He who finds his life will lose it, and he who loses his life for My sake will find it.”

Hear – “So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.” .Romans 10:17 • Believe – “But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him.” .Hebrews 11:6 • Repent - ”I tell you, no; but unless you repent you will all likewise perish.” .Luke 13:3 • Confess - "Therefore whoever confesses Me before men, him I will also confess before My Father who is in heaven. 33 But whoever denies Me before men, him I will also deny before My Father who is in heaven.” .Matthew 10:32-33 • Be Baptized – “Jesus answered, "Most assuredly, I say to you, unless one is born of water and the Spirit, he cannot enter the kingdom of God.” .John 3:5 • Remain Faithful – “Do you not know that to whom you present yourselves slaves to obey, you are that one's slaves whom you obey, whether of sin leading to death, or of obedience leading to righteousness?” .Romans 6:16 • REVELATION 2:10***
