  6. Branch Campus/Extension Site • Long sought an opportunity for a branch campus for “degree completion” • Working with Ed Alliance determined that “extension site” is probably best/simplest approach • Have worked with three CC at this point: Schenectady for CA, Finger Lakes for ES and Adirondack for RATE • Best opportunity short term may be Schenectady • Goal is to establish programs that will help us deal with demographic downturn of traditional age potential students.

  7. Follow-up from Spring • Waiting to hear from Franklin County DA • May empanel a Grand Jury • Aim is to convince involved students to come clean with law enforcement • May bring us back into the news • Tried to get DEC to ban alcohol on easement lands • Overall, received strong local support

  8. Wellness Committee • Co-Chaired by Elizabeth Stearns-Sims & Gail Gibson-Sheffield • Aimed holistically • Will have sub-group focused on alcohol and drugs • Again, strong, local support

  9. President’s Climate Commitmentwww.presidentsclimatecommitment.org • Signed in May-we were one of first • Now over 300 signatories • September 15 we begin countdown to meeting goals • Complete an emissions inventory within one year • Within 2 years, climate action plan to reach neutrality • Within 3 years, report GHG emissions and progress • Take immediate steps to reduce greenhouse gas by choosing from list of short-term actions, e.g., purchase wind power • Integrate sustainability into the curriculum • Make our plan, inventory and progress reports public • Must establish “institutional structure” for development and implementation of plan. • For now Environmental Resource Management Committee • Volunteers needed

  10. Faculty & Staff DevelopmentDegree/Credential elevation • Very pleased with response as we enter third year. • 5 faculty have entered program • We added funds for staff this year • 5 staff involved • Donor has committed $500,000 to endowment for faculty development fund
