RELISH FOOD REFRAIN WASTE • We all enjoy food which is delicious. • Name some food items which you love the most? • How much can we eat? • Should we buy and store everything at one time? • How can we cut down waste . • Remember that food waste is the 3rd largest component of generated waste.
Steps to cut wastage. • Shop more often but buy less. • Let your snack box have food which is just sufficient for you. Do not waste. • Ask your parents to buy only what you will definitely eat. • Don’t go to shopping with your parents in an empty stomach. • Avoid junk and sweets if you need to stay healthy. • Buy food which has label like BEST BEFORE or USEBY DATE. • Do not eat beyond the mentioned date as it may cause a serious problem to your health.
IMPACT ON THE ENVIRONMENT • If we stop wasting food we can prevent at least 15million tonnes of carbon dioxide equivalent emissions each year. The food waste goes to the land fill sites and produces methane a green house gas more powerful than carbon dioxide.
We Eat To Live Not Live To Eat. • To protect our security and save our planet ,let us reduce the waste by buying few products and only those which lasts longer. • Our personal waste reduction can make a small impact onthe overall waste volumes.
