Write a short persuasive script • In groups of 3 or 4 you are going to write a short persuasive script • To help you I am going to perform a model script - I need two volunteers to help me • In your groups you have cards for the 8 persuasive techniques • As we perform our role play hold up the right persuasive technique card as you hear it being used

  5. Model script Lucy: Oh Susan, Edmund you really really won’t believe where I have just been. Edmund: Oh yeah, gone on then show-off spill the beans and tell us where. Lucy: It is the most amazing, stunning and incredible place! Susan: Oh come on Lucy – tell us where you have been. Lucy: You must believe me - I have been to a land called Narnia andyouwill be amazed at what Ihave to tell you Edmund: We just don’t believe your have left the mansion – you must be going mad. Lucy: I think Narnia is a land of magic and danger and you have to understand what a mindblowing experience I have had Susan: Lucy, stop talking nonsense and just eat your tea. Lucy: You would believe me if I was Peter wouldn’t you? It is true that I have been to a magic world and I have met a faun! Edmund: There is no such thing as magic or fauns! Lucy: If I live to be 100 years old you still wouldn’t believe me because you are too boring to believe in magic.

  6. Write your script Groups of three or four: Lucy Susan Edmund Peter Lucy is trying to persuade the other two that Narnia does exist. 15 minutes

  7. Write your short play script • All will use 3 persuasive techniques in your role play • Most will use 4 or more persuasive techniques in your role play • Some will use 5 or more persuasive techniques in your role play • Refer to your persuasive techniques cards • Each time you use a persuasive technique in your script put that card in a new pile
