  2. DYNAMIC MARKINGS • Dynamics affect the volumein a piece of music. • Here are some basic common dynamic markings:

  3. DYNAMIC SHADING • Two (2) dynamic shading markings that are commonly used in music are: = Crescendo = gradually getting louder = Diminuendo/decrescendo = gradually getting softer

  4. Slurs • A slur is a form of expression that suggests smoothness.
