  1. Graduation Meeting November 18, 2013 12:00 p.m., Room L116

  2. Grad Information sheet • distributed to graduands’ mailboxes in February with all of the graduation information.

  3. Date, Time and Place • Evangel Pentecostal Assembly, 4461 50 Street. • Saturday, May 3, 2014 • Rehearsal: 12:00 p.m.; (everyone attending the ceremony must be at the rehearsal). • Ceremony: 2:00 p.m. • Reception: immediately after ceremony; ends at 5:30pm.

  4. Living in Residence? • you will need to complete an Intent to Stay form in order to remain in dorms between the end of exams and the convocation ceremony.

  5. Taking Courses Elsewhere • If taking a course at another institution, final official transcripts must be to the Registry by March 31, 2014. • January Grads: final official transcripts must be received by the Registry by November 30, 2013.

  6. Not attending next term? • let Kara know so she can mail grad information. • otherwise check your email for grad info.

  7. Application to Graduate • must be in to Registry and accompanied by $100 fee by December 15. • Between December 16 and February 28 the fee is $200.

  14. Convocation Theme Suggestions • Theme suggestions must be submitted to Kara by December 15. • Do we have suggestions today? • Voting will take place through an online survey along with the Valedictorian selection.

  15. Litany • composed and read by a grad and a professor at the convocation ceremony. Previous years’ litany available. • Volunteers?

  16. Valedictorian Selection Process: Nomination • forms distributed after this meeting • two graduands must nominate • brief description from the nominee of why he or she would like to be valedictorian is required. • Only one nomination form per nominee will be accepted. This is not voting, it is nominating!

  17. Valedictorian Selection Process: Balloting • Distribution of ballots – Survey Monkey emails will be sent to email address on Application to Graduate or King’s email address. • Rate nominees on • Shows Christian Commitment (Yes/No) • Active in the King’s student community (Rank 1..5) • Represents Class well (Rank 1..5) • Good speaker (Rank 1..5) • Academic achievement (Rank 1..5)

  18. Valedictorian Selection Process, continued • Valedictorian Selection Committee • President, VP Academic, VP Student Development, Registrar • Use: • ranking by graduands • GPA • ability to represent larger King’s community • Invitation and Publication

  21. BEd applications. • Apply early. The application fee is waived for current students. A special application for current students is available at the Office of the Registrar.
