  3. ICE BREAKERIN THE NEXT COUPLE MINUTES INTRODUCE YOURSELF TO ONE OR TWO PEOPLE NEAR YOU (MAJOR, YEAR, HOMETOWN ETC.)

Two Eboard Positions Open • Secretary: Taking minutes at all meetings, turning in activity sheets to nationals, and being a part of the NSCS eboard! • VP of Public Relations/Recruitment: Help get the word out about NSCS, great position for a marketing/advertising/PR major to use their skills to recruit new members! A committee will be organized to brainstorm and put ideas into action. • Please see us afterwards if you are interested for further information • Log onto the website to get an application and email to stillla1@msu.edu

  7. Community Service Events • AIDS WALK This Sunday September 27 @ 10:00 Contact ramseyin@msu.edu • White Hills Nursing Home (On Hagadorn) -October 3rd, 3-4 PM -Need 5-6 for Activity Time, Playing Wii games, card games etc. ramseyin@msu.edu

Community Service • Ronald McDonald Dinner: September 30th @ 5 PM Contact varneys1@msu.edu • Boys and Girls Club Halloween Party: October 30th from 5:30 – 7:30 It ends early so you can volunteer first and still go out later! Service… • Neighborhood Clean-Up What: East Lansing Neighborhood Clean-Up When: Sunday, October 4 @ 10:30am Where: Parking lot at rear of EL Police Station **Donuts and Juice will be provided!! Awesome Fall community service event, bring friends! Robicha5@msu.edu • Volunteer Day at Lake Lansing Park South (1621 Pike St.) on Saturday October 10th - seal coating our wooden playground • Beginning at 10:00am • I would be looking for 20-40 volunteers for this project. • Robicha5@msu.edu

  10. Point System • Point systemGeneral Meetings- 5pts.Item of the Month- 5pts.PACE- 5pts. every time you attendService Projects/Social Events- 5 pts. per hourCreating a service project for the society- 10pts.

Other Info from our Historian.. • If you are a graduating senior to get cords you will need to attend at least 3 general meetings and attend at 6 community service/social events throughout the year.  This is the only way to get your senior cords!  For those graduating in December...contact me individually to work something out. Planning on Achieving College Excellence                      Claire, VP   Linnea, VP • Mentoring program @ Holt Junior High School  Located in Holt, MI   (15 minutes from MSU Campus) • Help 6th, 7th, & 8th graders with homework    -Math (algebra-middle school level)**    -Science (middle school level)    -English (middle school level)Also, these students love to hear about your day at MSU. You are not just a tutor, you are a mentor to a younger generation!Think POSITIVE ROLE MODEL!

PACE Con’t… • Available to: ALL NSCS members and Non-NSCS students (so you can bring a friend!)Program Times: 2:30 PM-3:30 PM MONDAY-FRIDAY8:00 AM-10:00 AM Wednesday MORNING  (twice on Wednesday)***We do carpool so if you don’t have a ride, we will find one for you!How To Get Involved:Sign-Up after the meeting! ~We then begin the process of collecting everyone’s information, setting up a car pool, and then the program begins!Direct Current Questions To CLAIRE: pfcsrocks@gmail.com

Movie Night Halloween is around the corner and its about time to start watching some SCARY movies! • Bring friends, Halloween candy, baggies, decorations etc. or just bring yourself and help us put together some goodie bags for local children and pediatric patients while watching a seriously scary movie! • Food and Beverages will be provided • Thursday October 15 at 7:00 PM in South Kedzie Rm. 107

Lets Recap… • What can you do? -Volunteer as much as you want with PACE -Take advantage of Community Service Activities -Lend a hand at movie night • How about leadership? -Apply for an open Eboard position -Plan your own community service event and talk about it at our next meeting -Come next time and learn about our committees (Great positions to have on your resume!)

  17. Next General Meeting • Our next general meeting will be held on Wednesday October 28th • In South Kedzie Rm. 107…at 7:30 PM • Pumpkin Contest!

  18. Next Item of the Month • The item of the month will be supplies for 3rd grade children at Duke Ellington Detroit Public School: -Kleenex/paper towel -Liquid Hand Sanitizer -Erasers (little pink ones) -Holiday Construction Paper -Laffy Taffy/ tall String Licorice -Pop tarts and Gram Cracker like snacks (Many of the students come to school and have not eaten yet!) **Some of the kids come to school under dressed in the winter, Navy Blue sweaters, zip ups or cardigans would be a great thing to buy with a friend as your item to keep this class warm (Navy Blue is the color they are suppose to wear at school) They are kids medium size (ages 7/8). The info from tonight will be posted on our website and remember to contact any eboard members with questions, concerns, or ideas!
