  2. The norms for Paramedical Programmes now stand finalised on the basis of the Resolution (AC.55.9.1) of the 55th Academic Council of IGNOU. These norms become applicable with effect from the July 2011 Cycle of admission.

  3. Eligibility and Duration The eligibility criteria for the Certificate and Diploma Programmes is 10th Pass. For Non-Credit Customised Programmes there will be no entry restriction.

  4. Eligibility and Duration The duration for a certificate programme is one year and for a diploma programme is two years.

  5. Eligibility and Duration The Community Colleges may conduct Non-Credit CustomisedProgrammes for duration less than one year.

  6. Applicability of the Norms For admission to July 2009, Jan 2010 and July 2010 cycles, the Community Colleges may be permitted as a one-time measure, departure from the norms spelt out by letter dated 27-10-2010 to the extent their proposals follow the basic norms of programme delivery through Community Colleges.

  7. Applicability of the Norms For Jan 2011 cycle, the Community Colleges will have to abide by the norms specified by the letter dated 27-10-2010 and 15-Feb-2011.

  8. Applicability of the Norms Admission based on the outcome of the Brainstorming Session can be conducted only w.e.f. July 2011 cycle subject to its approval by the Academic Council of IGNOU.

  9. Creditisation Revised Creditisation has to be sent – 32 for certificate and 64 for Diploma. After examination of the Creditisation Document the Programme and Course Codes will be provided.

  10. The Basic Foundation Course in Science will comprise 8 credits in Certificate as well as Diploma Programmes. Thus the modified creditisation should be for 32-8 (=24 for Certificate) band 64-8 (=56 for Diploma).Those who have done 10+2 with Science need not undergo the Foundation Course but have to appear for the examination.   11. On-demand Examination The examination of the Basic Foundation Course in Science will be held as per the Scheme of On-demand Examination

  12. On-demand Examination The work of Foundation Course and preparing the guidelines for On-demand examination are on. Make yourself conversant with the basic norms of On-demand examination by visiting the link on On-demand examination in the Students’ Zone of IGNOU website.

  16. Diploma Programmes • Multipurpose Health Assistant & Worker • Patient Care • Operation Theatre Technique or Technician • Optometry • Public Health & Sanitation Technology • Blood Bank Technician • Critical Care Technician • Emergency Medicine 

  17. AYUSH All programmes coming under the A- Ayurdesa Y- Yoda U- Unani S- Sidhha H- Homeopathy will not be treated as paramedics. In such cases, Certificate will be of six months and Diploma of one year duration.

  18. Workshop on Paramedical Issues We are going to hold a two day workshop on issues related to paramedical programmes very likely on 30th and 31st July, 2011 at HTS Community College, 153 – N, Model Town, Hissar (Haryana) The dates will be confirmed
