Voice Mail Issue • In ANSI-41 networks it is not necessary to have an external voice mail box number in order to retrieve voice mails • ANSI-41 customer Roaming in GSM Network cannot retrieve voice mails by dialing their own number • Received Reply from TR45.2 confirming status • Only able to retrieve voice mail if have external voice mail box number • ANSI-41 customer Roaming in GSM Network calls cannot be forwarded to Voice Mail if there is no external voice mail box number • Only possible if Optimal Routing is implemented in GSM network
Packet Data Roaming • J-STD-038-A/B Supports GPRS Roaming in GSM Foreign Mode • ANSI-41 customer with GPRS handset will be able to get GPRS service • No similar standard exist that would allow GSM customer to get 1x Packet Data Roaming for ANSI-41 Foreign Mode • GGRF Determined there was a market need for 1x Packet Data Roaming in ANSI-41 Foreign Mode • Sent memo to various standards bodies including 3GPP2, 3GPP, TR45, TR46 requesting the development of 1x Packet Data Roaming in ANSI-41 Foreign Mode
