Platform Relatively stable with a few exceptions Novell 4 - 6.x or Windows Server About half & half - Novell is the most stable Must contact me for the correct drivers Workstations can be 95/98/NT/2K/XP Windows 2000 has been very stable If it isn’t broke… Don’t fix it! Don’t upgrade, Don’t migrate You won’t need a server for CHEMSPRO AREV CHEMS

  4. AREV CHEMS • Program • Last minor release was 4.58 (LOS Report) • Next release will probably be for ‘04 rates • Level of Service (LOS) changes • Investigating state material ID numbers • Continue to use the website to download • Seems to be working pretty well

  5. AREV CHEMS • Retro Pay • Do nothing else on retro posting dates • Use different posting dates for each year • For Example: • Just settled now for 2002 and 2003 • Post 2002 on Saturday, 2003 on Sunday • If you must combine, keep current year separate

AREV CHEMS • Fleet Maintenance – is it true… • Most counties are using the EQP_PM_SCN • You would like history when something clears • No counties are using the EQP_RPO_SCN • We don’t plan to convert any RPO information • Strong feelings about fleet maintenance? • Converting this now so follow up with me

CHEMSPRO Conversion • I think I’m about half way • The figuring it out, framework is done • Migration process is in place • Cut loose about 2 years ago • 50 % Time goes to support / 50% development • No guarantee ready in 2 years • Support dictates my timeline • External factors play a part • You can be the judge by participating…

CHEMSPRO • Participate in the process • All counties should send in AREV CHEMS • Upload or send in a CD with your system on it • http://www.graytech.ws/upload.html • Tests the conversion – missing items are caught • Becomes an offsite backup for you • Can run CHEMSPRO / AdHoc if you wish • Follow the Alpha development notes • Share your opinions with me or Alpha sites (fleet)

  13. CHEMSPRO • County Requirements • Server • Central server in Madison, you don’t need one • Workstation • Decent PC running Microsoft Windows • Internet • Good Internet connection, DSL or better • “LAN Based” through your courthouse (T1) • Dial-up works but it’s pretty slow

CHEMSPRO • Looking Forward To… • Running a report twice an getting the same results • Transactional database, no more little ‘2’s • No more problem with .0001 & .00010 • Run multiple sessions on one PC • Support from a central location • Server crashes, upgrades or corruptions • Hardware / Windows issues should be non-existent • Work from any Internet connection (shop or home?) • Royalty free, install CHEMSPRO anywhere

CHEMSPRO • 2nd Phase • Endless AdHoc reporting options • Scott / Dave get real-time county cost data • 3rd party tools & training available • Report archives, scheduled jobs and offloads • Devices like Palm Pilot or truck equipment • Integration with other applications • Streaming updates • Multiple platforms, wireless connectivity?

  16. CHEMSPRO • Summary • Don’t upgrade/migrate your CHEMS server • Continue using Windows workstations • Plan for a DSL or better connection • Upload or send in your AREV CHEMS system • Participate in the newsgroups, web & email • Run CHEMSPRO and AdHoc if you wish
