  2. Graduation Requirements • 4 English Credits • 4 Math Credits (1 must include Geometry) • 3 Science Credits (Forensics doesn’t count!) • 3 Social Studies Credits Including World History, Am. History, Gov’t/ Econ • HOPE • 1 credit of a Practical/Performing/Fine ART 24 Credits total 2.0 Unweighted GPA 245 (level 3 ) FCAT Reading

  3. Diploma Designations • Accelerated credit- 6 or more AP/Dual Enrollment courses • Merit Designation (Program Completer in CTE courses) • Scholar Designation • 1 credit in Algebra 2 • 1 credit in stats or equally rigorous course • 1 credit in Chemistry or Physics • 2 credits in foreign Lang. • 1 credit in Dual Enrollment or AP • Take and pass Geometry, Biology, and US History EOC • -(AP students who didn’t take EOC’s need to sign up for them to earn this)

  4. State University Requirements • 4 English • 4 Math (recommend Alg 2 and higher) • 3 Science (recommend more) • 3 Social Studies • 2 Foreign Language • AP and Honors Courses recommended

Public University Application Deadlines!!! • FAMU - Rolling • FAU – Rolling with Feb 15th Priority Deadline • FGCU – Rolling with Feb 15th Priority Deadline • FIU – Rolling • FLPOLY- Rolling (Dec 1 Early Decision, Feb. 1 Priority, May 1 final) • FSU - October 16th and January 15th • NCF – Rolling (Decision dates 2/15 and 4/25) • UCF- Rolling • UF –November 1st (decision date February 14th) • UNF - Rolling • USF – Rolling ( Deadline April 15th) • UWF – Rolling with January 1st Priority Deadline (NEW FB TEAM!)

Early Graduation • Students who choose to graduate early • Will be able to participate in the graduation ceremony (May 2014) • Will be able to participate in Prom, GradNite, etc. 2.0 GPA, passed the FCAT, 24 required credits * Early grad students will be called down this week and next week to discuss if you are on track!

College $$$ • The average cost for published tuition and fees in a public two-year in-state college per year is $2,690 • The average cost for published tuition and fees in a public in-state four-year college or university per year is$8,240 • Average surcharge for full-time out-of-state students at these institutions is $20,770 per year • The average cost for published tuition and fees in a private four-year college per year is $28,500 This does NOT include room/board, living expenses, FOOD, gas, travel, etc…

Informal Geo and Lib Arts Math don’t count!!! • 3 Science • 3 Social Studies • 2 credits of Foreign Language FAS GPA requirement is 3.5 SAT= 1290 or ACT= 29 100 hrs of service FM GPA requirement is 3.0 SAT= 1170 or ACT = 26 75 hrs of service

SENIOR RESPONSIBILITIES! • Register to take/retake the ACT or SAT • Meet with your counselor about your graduation status and college/scholarship questions • Visit College Campuses, attend Financial Aid Information Sessions, and College Fairs • Talk with universities, tech schools, military, etc… about what you need in order to be accepted. • Visit websites, know deadlines, and apply EARLY! • Prepare to gather the following: • High School Transcript • Test Scores • Resume • Letters of Recommendation • Give 2 weeks notice for recommendation letters and give that person your resume! • Know deadlines for financial aid • Apply for BF after Dec 1
