Current Computers • Using outdated technology in classroom and labs • Some computers are at least six years old • New software not efficient with current computers • Cost effective/repairs?
Description • The PowerPoint presentation is a presentation on technology currently in the schools. The presentation takes a look at the current old computers and compares them to new computers, teachers are hoping to receive. A cost benefit analysis is included as well as a bar graph depicting lost instructional time during each class period because of the outdated technology currently in place.
Objectives • Given a PowerPoint presentation on the need for new computers, the Board of Education will decide whether such an upgrade is necessary.
New Computers • Full integration of current technologies • Compatible with current software • Keeping up with current trends • Willingness and devotion to students’ education • Preparation for real-world experiences
Lost instructional Time The graph to the right shows a comparison of the current old computers versus the new computers and how many minutes are lost each class period due to computer start up, log off, processing, and other computer applications.
Other Intangibles • New computers are more conservative on power usage • Ultimately saves the district money • Leasing versus full out purchasing of equipment
