Annie Leibovitz

Annie Leibovitz, born in Waterbury, Connecticut in 1949, is a renowned American portrait photographer known for her iconic work with Rolling Stone and Vanity Fair. Her journey began during the Vietnam War, where she captured her first images while stationed in the Philippines. Rising to chief photographer for Rolling Stone by age 23, Leibovitz's images have defined magazine aesthetics, including the last portrait of John Lennon just hours before his tragic death. Her ability to blend celebrity culture with fine art has made her a significant figure in photography.
