Kristin McMahon Chief Claims Officer IronHealth

1. Kristin is Chief Claims Officer of IronHealth, a division of IronShore, an insurance company founded in 2006 with cash and invested assets of $3.9 billion. In her position, Kristin oversees all claims handling and coverage issues pertaining to the firm’s healthcare, life sciences, managed care and HMO Re liability products. She sits on IronHealth’s Executive Management Committee, and is involved in all major policy-making decisions related to strategy, product development, and risk management. Prior to joining IronHealth in 2008, Kristin was a practicing attorney for eighteen years at law firms in New York City and Chicago. Most recently, she was a partner at the Chicago based law firm of Kerns, Frost & Perlman. During her legal career she assisted numerous insurers and reinsurers with developing programs for professional liability lines and claims management strategies. Kristin is especially knowledgeable with liability management issues related to employment practices, directors and officers liability, errors and omissions, and medical/managed care professional liability. Kristin has published numerous articles on an array of insurance and healthcare liability related issues, and is a frequent speaker at national conferences. She graduated cum laude from Fairfield University with a B.S. in Mathematics in 1987, and obtained her Juris Doctor from Boston University’s School of Law. Kristin is admitted to practice law in Connecticut, New York, Massachusetts, and Illinois. She is married to Rob McMahon, also a Fairfield University graduate, and lives in the town of Fairfield with Rob and their two daughters.
