  1. Using Microsoft Applications At HomeWAH vs. HUP Information Technology TechTalk – January 2010

  2. Why are we having this discussion?

  3. Answer: • Under our current program “WAH” (Work at Home) • You are not licensed to use the software at home for personal purposes. • “I understand that I am not licensed to use the software for personal purposes.”

  4. Work At Home Media is provided by Information Technology. Stop by HB019 with your CCSU ID, sign the form, and we’ll give you a copy. Media is only good for 2 installs, won’t work after that. http://www.microsoft.com/education/license/manage/workathome_studentmedia.aspx

  5. WAH Titles Available • Office 2007 • Project 2007 • Visio 2007 • Visual Studio 2005 • Expression Web 2 • Windows XP • Older versions of above products are available. • Titles must be purchased in quantities of 25. We will not be providing Windows 7 media until we begin using it on campus.

  6. Another Option - HUP HOME USE PROGRAM - HUP www.microsofthup.com Limit still = 1, but it no longer says that it must be used for work-related purposes.

  7. Where’s the catch? • Can only do one or the other for each product, not both.

  8. The Ultimate Steal Do you know about Microsoft’s “Ultimate Steal?” http://www.microsoft.com/student/discounts/theultimatesteal-us/default.aspx Must be a current student, PC only, not Macintosh.

  9. The Free Choice Apps.ccsu.edu - our Remote Access Server has many of your favorite Office applications available online from any computer.

  10. Which would you choose?
