This strategy aims to document and share CPWF outputs and lessons, involving stakeholders in learning processes, and promoting interdisciplinary teamwork. It includes activities such as research communication, meta-synthesis, and monitoring to ensure broad dissemination of knowledge. The plan also focuses on communication methods like write-shops, briefing notes, and media campaigns to reach wider audiences.

Goal objectives • The overall goal is to ensure that CPWF lessons and results are mainstreamed into development processes at different levelsand CGIAR reform • The objectives are to: • Ensure that outputs and lessons are documented and widely accessible • Synthesize and distill lessons and evidence based science in different formats for use by different stakeholders • Different stakeholders have knowledge of CPWF results through being involved in the learning process.
Overall Framework • Three Messages: There is enough water in the world to meet our needs, its how we manage it, stupid
Approach • Loop 1: Focus on capturing our learning, making sure materials are captured, processes and methods are documented and each project has attained its outputs. • Loop 2: Focus on actual group learning where we start to synthesize and integrate results into different learning processes with key stakeholders. • Loop 3: Learning becomes action and the results and lessons from CPWF are actually used in other circumstance.
Principles • Decentralization: • basin focus own strategies to influence and leverage basin level priorities. Working with basin comm/km staff • program level focused on synthesis – basin maybe taking on specific synthesis i.e. Andes/BSM, Theoretical frameworks (Amy) • Engaging partners: CRP5, other CRPs, regional and international partners • Inter-disciplinary teams • Learning and participatory approaches
Current activities • Science/Research Communication • Meta-synthesis to be produced by 2013 • Institutional histories • Support to special issues journal and writehsops on key issues? • Research into use • IFAD Mainstreaming innovations project • Research into use • Finalization of Innovation fund proposals
Activities continued • Monitoring and Evaluation: Final report/format • Focused on lessons learning • Process documentation through MSCs and other means • Information management • Collecting outputs and sharing widely • CG Space & IWMI Water Data Portal • Communication/documentation: • Write-shops to synthesize lessons and experience (Innovation platforms, partnerships, R4D process, modelling, etc) • Production of research highlights, briefing notes, working papers • Communicating impacts/insights in novel ways (infographics, videos) • Small funding potentially for basin communication • Media campaigns attached to big events
