  2. Goal • To ensure the full implementation, development and utilization of a localized curriculum and learning resource materials in Basic Education to suit the conditions and context of the region.

  3. Core Functions • Oversee the implementation of Basic Education Curriculum • Indigenization of Curriculum in the different learning areas and ALS • Localized Instructional materials (IMs) and Support Instructional materials (SIMs) • Monitoring and Evaluation • Technical Assistance

  4. Kindergarten • 20-Week Kindergarten Curriculum has been submitted for uploading in our website SPED • Curriculum of the different disabilities will be revisited during a Work Conference with the Division SPED Coordinators

  5. MTB - MLE • 26 Big Books (outputs during the Regional Training) have been edited by the AkademiyangBisaya Foundation • For assessment and evaluation by specialists

  6. Implementation of 2010 SEC • 18 out of the 19 divisions have already completed the Division Implementation of the Mass Training of Second Year Teachers on the 2010 SEC • Cebu Province Division has started their training in 4 batches and will soon be completed this weekend

NSTIC Science & Math Equipment • Training of Trainers on the Use and Care of Science Equipment with Content Integration • participated in by 2 Regional ES/Coordinator, 11 Division ES/Coordinators in Science and 8 teacher-trainers (2 per learning area – Integrated Science, Biology, Chemistry, Physics) • Validation/finalization of the manuals and worksheets • Roll-out will be after all comments, suggestions and corrections will be instituted.

ALS • Implemented Radio Based Instruction (RBI) in 3 Districts – Cebu Province • A & E Test Registration is now going on (deadline: JULY 30, 2011) • BALS Basic Course for Mobile Teachers • 26 or 100% untrained MTs were capacitated • eLearning Training Workshop for Mobile Teachers • 28 or 100% MTs were trained • Linkage with NGO on CARE Management (Cordova) • Direction for literacy intervention made clear • Child laborers were inspired to acquire basic education for them to be functionally literate

  11. LRMDS Learning Resources • 1,545 teaching-learning resources available on the portal as of July 7, 2011 • 9 Science supplementary materials developed through DepEd-VECO Project have been published and are included in the list

  12. SSES • Conducted evaluation in • Toledo City – 6 schools • Cebu City – 1 school • Tanjay – 1 school • Total Takers – 556 • Passers – 206 0r 39%

  13. APPES • Accredited schools are now beginning to contaminate neighboring schools/districts • Preparation for the next level of accreditation for the 42 schools for Level 2

  14. Tech-Voc. • Evaluated Second Phase Biodiversity Implementation • Target 13 schools • Monitored 13 schools or 100% • Approved Feasibility Study - “Layer production, A Joint Venture of DA & Sy”
