IB ECONOMICS: INTERAL ASSESSMENTRequirements Requirements • 4 Commentaries, with a focus on at least three different sections of the syllabus (microeconomics, macroeconomics, international economics, development economics) • Each commentary must be at least 650 words, but not exceed 750 words. • Graphs are expected. • Analysis and Evaluation are very important. • Represents 20% of IB Economics grade for HL students • Represents 25% of IB Economics grade for SL students

IB ECONOMICS: INTERAL ASSESSMENTHomework Tasks • From September, IB Economics Commentaries replace all H/W tasks. • Time will also be allocated in class, in addition to the completion of work at home. • Each commentary will be weighted at 4 for the ECA internal reporting system. • Note: You will be expected to complete 7 economic commentaries before the end of this academic year, but only the best 4 will be selected for IB submission.

  5. IB ECONOMICS: INTERAL ASSESSMENTTimeline for Portfolio Submission Wednesday 9th February 2011: • Teacher begins detailed consultation and feedback with all students. Recommendations made on which commentary to submit for IB portfolio. Students to make corrections. Friday 25th February 2011 • All four commentaries (final copies) due to teacher.
