  2. What is Open Enrollment? • This is your annual opportunity to change certain benefit elections without a qualifying event. • All elections will be made online and take effect Jan. 1, 2010 and remain thru Dec. 31, 2010

  3. When and Where? • October 19 – Oct. 30, 2009 • Online at louisville.edu/hr/benefits/openenrollment/ • Benefit Vendors will be on site to answer questions: Oct. 22 & 23, 9 – 4:30 HSC – Abell Building Oct. 27 & 28, 9 – 4:30, Belknap, Human Resources Department

What do I do? • Look closely at changes for 2010 to make the best choice for you and your family • After reviewing the plan options and details, if you are happy with the health, dental and or vision plan you currently have DO NOTHING. • If you want a voluntary flexible spending account (health care and or dependent care) you must  make that election.  • If you waive health insurance and you want some or all of your money in a DEPENDENT CARE flexible spending account you must make that election. • If you want to change plans or the dependents you cover you must make these changes. • If you want to participate in Get Healthy Now and receive the monthly premium incentive ($40) on health insurance you must take the on-line Health Risk Assessment (HRA).

What’s New for 2010 • More Health Plan Choices - We will offer the same health plans in 2010 with the addition of a new plan – Cardinal Care EPO (UofL Healthcare EPO). • Cardinal Care EPO • This new Cardinal Care Plan combines easy access, exceptional clinical care, conveniently located physician offices and low rates in a network exclusively made up of UofL Physicians. The network is limited to UofL Physicians and UofL Hospital. For physician specialists that are not represented in the Cardinal Care EPO, the Chief Medical Officer for UofL Physicians will refer you to a designated provider and you will pay in-network costs. .

  11. Pharmacy Benefit • Provided thru Express Scripts • Automatically comes with any health plan but does have separate identification card. Keep your Express Scripts ID card to use in 2010. • Customer Service 1-800-298-6890

Get Healthy Now All about you! • Get Healthy Now is a voluntary, incentive based health management program, implemented in 2005. • Since program inception UofL has been able to keep healthcare cost increases below the national average. • Employees who have participated in Get Healthy Now have been instrumental in keeping healthcare premiums from increasing. (2.5% vs 19.5%)

  16. 2010 Get Healthy Now Program Modifications • Participating employees receive a $40 monthly premium incentive. • REMINDER: Annual completion of the on-line health risk assessment is required for participation & to receive the premium incentive. (HRA on-line: Oct.19 – Nov.13) • HRA is 100% confidential. Only you & your health coach can view results. • Regular contact with health coach may be necessary to maintain premium incentive. Waiving Health Coverage • The University will continue to place $195 per month into a Healthcare Flexible Spending account (FSA) if you waive the health plan. • Note: If you would prefer that some or all of this money be placed in a Dependent Care FSA then you must make that known online during open enrollment

  18. Flexible Spending Account WHAT IS IT? • The absolute best way to pay for expenses you already have. It’s an account that you contribute pre-tax pay to, and then you pay for expenses out of it. • Two different types available: Healthcare FSA which is used for medical expenses for the whole family and the other, Dependent Care FSA which is used for daycare expenses for child care or eldercare • Depending on your tax bracket, you can save 25% to 35% in taxes on every dollar you put into the accounts. • Account good for one calendar year and IRS requirements state unused funds cannot be refunded or carried over so estimate carefully.

  19. Flexible Spending Account • Administered by Chard-Snyder • Keep your Benny card for use in 2010. • If you do nothing during open enrollment you will not have an FSA account in 2010

  20. Dental Insurance • Provided by Anthem Dental Blue • No increase in rates • If you do nothing your coverage will remain the same as 2009

  21. Vision Insurance • Provided thru Anthem Blue View Vision • No increase in rates • If you do nothing your coverage will remain the same as 2009.

  22. Alternative Vision Benefit • If you have Humana EPO or PPO you are eligible for one eye exam every 12 months and discounts on lenses/frames through EyeMed participating optical providers. • If you take the new Cardinal Care EPO you will be eligible for one vision exam every 12 months after a $35 copay
