  4. The Gospel of Matthew The Parable of the Sower 13:1-9 Types of Ground – “Way side” – “Beside the Road” (NASB) – birds. – Stony places – no depth – no “moisture” (Lk 8:6). – Thorns – “Thorns sprang up” – chocked. – “Good ground” (before seed) – yielded crop. “Ears to Hear” (cf. Mk 4:11,13).
